OUR MISSION

To cultivate lives captivated by God’s beauty through creative discipleship for creative disciples.

Two purposes lie behind everything we do at Humble Beast:

Cultivate

We seek to cultivate creative disciples with creative and beautiful discipleship.

Captivate

We set out to captivate the church and culture with beautiful acts of creativity that reflect the beauty of our Creator.

To achieve these purposes we aim to:

Disciple

To help cultivate creative disciples, we seek to offer a multi-disciplinary approach to discipleship. We want to use every avenue we can—from conferences to podcasts and from articles to apprenticeships—to help you grow in his grace and your gifts. And as creatives ourselves, we want to imagine new and innovative ways to help you grow in love for your Creator and his creation.

Display

At Humble Beast though, we don’t just want to talk about creativity, we want to put God’s beauty on display as well.

We want to use every gift—through music, film, poetry, design, and more—to captivate the church and the culture with genuine creative acts that, in part, reflect the transcendent artistry of the Lord.

We also want Humble Beast to serve you. Which is why we want our ministry to become a gallery, not just for our creative acts, but for yours too.

Draw Near

We know from experience that we can do none of this on our own. Which is why we want Humble Beast to be less of a record label and more of a family.

We seek to be a collective for God’s kingdom, where artists, in love with their King, can gather together to find encouragement and inspiration to follow him in all things, especially their creativity.

In short, we want to provide a place— through conferences, gatherings, and digital communities—where you can draw near to God and other like-minded, gifted creatives to pursue his glory and the world’s good.

Our Beliefs

God is

Triune: He is the one true God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Creator: He created the world for his glory and purposes.
Redeemer: God does not leave the world in sin but pursues it in love to save it.

Humanity is

Created in the image and likeness of God.

Fallen—through Adam’s sin all of the human race became separate from God, inherited a sinful nature, and cannot bring reconciliation with God about by their own power.

Christ Is

The eternal Son of God, fully, simultaneously, and equally divine.

Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who became man, without ceasing to be God, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.

The one sent by the Father to reveal God and to give his life as a ransom for many.

The substitutionary sacrifice who, through his death on the cross, offers redemption to those who repent and believe in him.

He who is raised literally and physically from the dead.

He who is now in heaven, exalted at the right hand of God, ministering for his people as their Great High Priest, Mediator, and Advocate.

Salvation is

Given by God as a gift of grace, not something we can earn on our own merits but accomplished by Jesus Christ who died for the forgiveness of our sins.

By personal faith in what Jesus Christ has done in his atoning work on the cross and empty tomb.

Enacted and sealed by the Holy Spirit (a divine person of the same essence as the Father and the Son) for believers.

The Gospel is

The promise of God worked out in history to bring alienated sinners back into a saving and loving relationship with him.

Built around God’s authority, Man’s image-bearing, man’s attempted usurpation of God in Sin, and Christ’s work in his perfect life, perfect death, and death-defeating resurrection to accomplish all of God’s redemptive work.

A call to response. The gospel calls us to faith and repentance and is only ours through believing in what God has done in Christ and turning from our sins.

The Church is

The body and bride of Christ, a spiritual entity consisting of Christian believers.

The instrument Christ instituted to spread his kingdom after his ascension.

One of the main mechanisms God, in this time between the ages, sanctifies God’s people and brings the gospel message to the lost.
